As I sit in front of my lap top I find myself reminiscing to that dreadful day. The day not only the United States of America, but the WORLD changed. They day most of us “regular” citizens never imagined, dreamed or thought was possible. The day we, THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA, became a victim of terrorist activities.
September 11th, 2001. I (like most of you) still remember sitting at my apartment by myself. My lady friend was already at work and I was getting dressed for work. I was a server at California Pizza Kitchen in Columbus and I was watching the news for some reason. It was about 8:50 or so and the television was playing video of this building on fire. It looked like make believe. A few moments later an airplane flew into the building next door and I knew things were “different.” I didn’t know what was going on. I felt confused, scared and worried. I felt like I was watching a movie produced by Michael Bay. NO, it was non-fiction. New York City and the World Trade Center were under attack. ABBZOLUTELY C.R.A.Z.Y.
The Towers actually collapsed, people. I know it’s hard to imagine still, but the World Trade Center Towers collapsed. When working on this article, I found myself mystified by the dim reality. The Twin Towers actually collapsed on LIVE TELEVISION for the World to view. The most astonishing facet on September 11th, 2001 is the fact it was EIGHT years ago. To put some relativity to that statement a ten year old girl in 2001 is a high school graduate this year. Yeah I thought that would wake you up. Eight years have past and I feel just as confused about the attack as before. Where is the person responsible for this action? Is America and the rest of the world anymore safe than before? Did Bush and his Administration “REALLY” have something to do with an attack on “American Soil” as he said so many times? We’ll never know.
What we will know is this…2,993 individuals of 90 Nationalities died that day. That’s my entire high school, teachers included, passing away in a 10 hour period. Sounds heavy to me. Every human, EVERYWHERE, was and is effected by September 11th, 2001. I’m not attempting to bring back the dull memories, it’s such a significant part of HISTORY. I just hope we NEVER forget. NEVER forget the fire fighters who risked their lives for U.S. NEVER forget the lives who were lost for NO reason. It was a hellacious act and as much as the memories of it linger with dissatisfaction and angst, I pray we take time today, tomorrow and the rest of our lives to pay attention to our surroundings and love the lives we have. They can be taken at the blink of an eye.
Today, September 11 2009, we “THE B.YONEST INVAZION STAFF” remember with love. We pray for our family and friends. We hope our enemies and foes change their ways as we progress into the future. Today, we Stand for the WORLD. New President in the U.S.A. New goals to attain and new HOPES n DREAMZ. ALL HAIL.

UPDATE!!! UPDATE!! September 11th, 2009…
Officials report work has begun on Ground Zero to build “Freedom Tower.” It’s been eight years and they claim to have the tower done before the TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY. I watched Glenn Beck this afternoon and he was going ballistic about the necessity for THE TOWERS to be replaced. I AGREE.
Sidenote: Thank God GEORGE W. BUSH is NOT our PRESIDENT anymore!!
