281x211Jay-Z and Eminem shared the mic at the Wiltern on June 1st in a rare joint appearance to celebrate the launch of “DJ HERO” in front of a celebrity-studded audience.

Travis Barker and DJ AM (TRVS/DJAM) started off the night and commanded the crowds attention followed by a quick song by Warren G.

Jay-Z took the stage next with live band – Roc Boys and performed an 11 song set of classics as well as some newer songs…”99 Problems,” “Can I Live” “Jigga What,” “Public Service Announcement” and his verse from “Swagga Like Us.” The set raged on with spins through “Blue Magic,” “My President Is Black,” “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” and Lil Wayne’s “A Milli,” ending the set with a rock remix of “Encore.

Jigga acted as if the set was over and then asked if he could perfom 1 more track – it was “Renegade” and Eminem took the stage.  The crowd went crazy.

Eminem stayed on stage to perform “3 A.M.,” from the Relapse album followed by “Underground,” “We Made You” and “Crack a Bottle.” The set closed with Em’s classic “Lose Yourself.”

Speaking of “DJ Hero” according to reports Def Jam is releasing Def Jam Rapstar in last 2009 (prob right around xmas).

Video Game authority IGN.com spoke to Lauren Wirtzer, Def Jam Interactive’s vice president of marketing and 4mm CEO Nicolas Perrett to get some incite into the video game. “There are not very many products out there that speak directly to the hip-hop consumer base,” said Wirtzer. “More than just a music game, this is a game that really incorporates all of the crucial elements of this lifestyle. It’s not just about music, it’s about swagger.”

It has not been said which gaming system Rapstar will be released on…

Eminem’s Relapse First Week Sales Numbers…

Posted in B.YONEST, MUZIK with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on May 27, 2009 by invazion

According to reports, Relapse sold 608,000 copies in its first week.  This not only tops the Billboard charts, it is also the best opening weeks sales of any artist in 2009!  Actually, since last October with AC/DC’s Black Ice, which sold 784,000 copies.

Relapse becomes Eminem’s fifth straight No. 1 debut. His only album not to debut No. 1 was his debut album “The Slim Shady LP”, which peaked at No. 2 in 1999.

Collectively, Eminem’s six albums have sold 34 million in the U.S., making him the biggest selling hip-hop act in the SoundScan era (1991-present).

Digging through the internet, the best conglomerate of info I found…

KING MATHER LP or RELAPSE?

picture-1

During the interview, Em put an end to rampant rumors of  his forthcoming LP being titled “King Mathers.” em

“There are alotta fake album titles floating out there–alot of bullshit titles. The real title of my album that’s coming out is called ‘Relapse.” Em tells Angea Yee of Shade 45.

MAY 19th is the release date for Relapse.

Followed by “Relapse 2,” which is planned for release in the second half of the year.

“A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year,” Eminem said in a news release. “I was one of them. Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting out Relapse 2 will let everyone get all of the best stuff.”

“We go until it happens,”, producer Dr. Dre says about all the time he spends in the recording studio searching for hits. The highly acclaimed dreproducer says that he had once spent as long as 79 hours in a single stretch. “When the ideas are coming, I don’t stop until the ideas stop because that train doesn’t come along all the time.”.

SO RELAPSE 2 then DETOX album – WHAT ABOUT 50?  When does his album drop?  BEFORE I SELF DESTRUCT?

Before I Self Destruct will be the fourth studio album by rapper 50 cent, his final solo release in his current contract with Interscope Records, excluding a “greatest hits” album.

Recently, 50 Cent told MTV that he will release the album in June 2009 and a second album one month after Eminem’s second album.

SO WHAT ABOUT DRE?

“Eminem was always coming next year. But what happened was, I lost Dr. Dre to Eminem. Dre had to stop making his album to finish Eminem’s album,” explained Iovine. “Eminem hit a streak, and when a guy like Eminem gets on fire, you stop everything. That’s how we lost Dre.” says Interscope Records CEO Jimmy Iovine

Eminem’s Relapse will be the Detroit rapper’s first solo project in four years while 50 Cent’s Before I Self Destruct will the G-Unit honcho’s last album on his current contract with Interscope.

Detox, which will be Dre’s first solo project in ten years, will feature appearances from Lil Wayne and Jay Z , among others.

In related news, Eminem will be returning to his roots at the end of May as he headlines the 2009 MTV Movie Awards.

THE SAME TIME AS HIS ALBUM, NO WAY!!!!
